Sokoto State Government convened a one-day Sectoral Integration Coordination Meeting on Wednesday with the theme “Finding Joint Solutions for Effective Service Delivery in Sokoto State.”
The meeting held at Sokoto Guest In brought together key stakeholders from various sectors to foster collaboration and improve the overall effectiveness of service delivery across the state.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Mohammed Zayyana, emphasized the importance of shared commitment and strategic resource utilization in driving development.
“There should be synergy between the Sokoto State Government and development partners to ensure impactful outcomes for our people,” he stated.
The meeting, which focused on accelerating growth and development through coordinated efforts, was organized by the state Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to strengthen sectoral alignment and ensure efficient service provision.
The Director International Cooperation, Musa Muhammad Wamakko, outlined the key objectives of the meeting: fostering coordination, enhancing deliberation, and promoting sustainable capacity transfer among stakeholders.
In attendance at the one sectoral meeting were several members of the State Executive Council, including the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Ladan Ala; Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Iya; Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Bashar Dalhatu Tangaza; Commissioner for Social Welfare and Humanitarian Affairs, Asabe Balarabe; Commissioner for Health, Hon. Abubakar Faruku; and Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Tukur Alkali, and Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Almustapha

Also present were the Special Adviser on Resident Community and Internally Displaced Persons, Hon. Maryam D. Mass; Special Adviser on Economic Development and NGOs Dr. Bashir Achida; and representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CBOs) and supporting partners across the state.
The gathering emphasized the need for a harmonized approach to policy implementation, improved stakeholder engagement, and innovative strategies to address developmental challenges in Sokoto State.
