Editor

Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto), representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has shown solidarity with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara State Council following a recent auto crash involving their 18-seater bus, Correspondents’ Chapel.

During a press conference where he addressed Zamfara’s security challenges and political climate, Senator Yari sympathized with the journalists over the accident, which occurred on 29 November 2024, involving 15 NUJ members traveling home after the National Delegates Conference held in Owerri Imo state. Thankfully, they sustained only minor injuries.

Moved by their plight, he announced immediately donating a brand-new bus to ensure the journalists could continue their activities without disruption.

He prayed for Allah’s protection and prevention of future occurrences.

Senator Yari received updates about the accident from Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, a former NUJ chairman of the Zamfara State Council and chairman of the publicity committee of the A.A. political organization.

His gesture ignited jubilations among the journalists and their well-wishers and was widely praised as a show of support for the media community in Zamfara.
