The Emir of Gwandu, Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar, has commended Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, for donating sets of clothes for Eid-el-Fitr to the four Emirates in the state.
The Emirates are Gwandu, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru.
Laminu Shehu Kuwwa, the Secretary to the State Council of Chiefs, stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
He quoted the Emir, who is also the Chairman of the Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, as saying: “We are highly grateful to Governor Idris for his magnanimity.
“This is not the first time; last year, our amiable Governor has extended similar gesture to the four Emirates.
“Let me use this medium to appreciate the governor for the support traditional has been enjoying from the governor.”
The Royal Father, on behalf of other three Emirates, pledged to support policies and programs of the present administration to enable it deliver the desired dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
On Eid-el-Fitr prayer, the Emir announced that the Eid prayer would be performed at the usual time and usual Eid Praying Ground “as soon as the new moon of Shawwal is sighted.
