The House of Representatives is set to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) learning into lawmakers’ constituency projects as part of efforts to drive human capital development and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.

Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, announced the plan on Saturday during a visit to the Bildup AI Learning Hub in Enugu, where young Nigerians are undergoing AI-based training.

He was accompanied by the House Majority Leader, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, and other members of the Constitution Review Committee.

Kalu said the initiative would equip young Nigerians with essential digital skills to compete globally and position the country as a hub for innovation and technology-driven growth.

“We need to expand what you are doing, and that is where government partnership comes in,” he said.

“We will make a case for you in the Ministries of Education and Science and Technology.

“My office will partner with you to showcase your work because human capital development is key.

“This is not about politics, it’s about national progress.”

The Deputy Speaker noted that with adequate support, Nigerian youths could use AI education to provide digital services to global technology firms while earning foreign income.

“This will help us produce more service providers who can stay in Nigeria and work remotely for companies like Oracle, Facebook, and Instagram while earning in foreign currency,” he said.

“Keep innovating and dreaming of the future is bright.”

Kalu urged his colleagues in the National Assembly to establish AI learning hubs in their constituencies, describing the Bildup AI model as “accessible, affordable, and transformative.”

“Bildup has simplified learning and made it reachable to all.

“It’s time we make it part of our constituency projects so that more students can learn and build,” he said.

“Human capacity development is the foundation of progress.”

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Bildup AI, Chibuike Aguene, described the platform as Africa’s first indigenous AI-powered learning system capable of teaching and interacting with students in real time, similar to a human tutor.

He explained that the innovation addresses Nigeria’s teacher-student ratio challenge by providing personalized, one-on-one learning experiences through artificial intelligence.

“Imagine every student having access to the world’s best teacher on a one-to-one basis,” Aguene said.

“This technology bridges the learning gap and ensures even students in remote areas have equal access to quality education.”

Aguene added that Bildup AI also includes a career mentorship feature that helps learners discover their strengths and connect with global job opportunities through an integrated digital marketplace.

He commended the Federal Government’s recent policy integrating technology skills into the national school curriculum, describing Bildup’s emergence from the South East as “a proud moment for Nigerian innovation.”

“It’s a win for the entire country,” he said.

“We’re not replacing teachers, but we’re empowering them to do more.”
