Reps Member Provides Free Eye Surgery for Glaucoma, Cataracts Patients in Sokoto

A member representing Wamakko/ Kware Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Ahmad Abdullahi kalambaina has commenced an eye health initiative tagged “Best eye treatment at home in Kware town the headquarters of Kware local government.”

Kalambaina said 700 people suffering from eye problems of Glaucoma, Cataract,s and Blurry vision would benefit in Kware and Wamakko local government areas.      

He said under the program, free quality eye care services would be provided to the people which involves an all-inclusive approach that would target not just the medical causes of eye diseases but also the socio-economic of the rural communities.                                     

The objective of the exercise according to Hon. Kalambaina is to address eye health-related problems of the rural people; hence many of them have poor eye health-seeking behavior that stems from inadequate knowledge of eye diseases and harmful cultural beliefs.                                             

He further said at the implementation of the program he would engage the services of health officers to conduct medical check-ups, eye surgery, and provision of eyeglasses for both men and women.

He urged people to make use of the opportunity and make themselves available to health officers and thanked citizens of the two local government areas for their cooperation and support which led to the success of his tenure.
