While fielding questions from newsmen after the flagging off of the campaign, the Jigawa state Director of Primary Healthcare, Dr Sambo Shehu, stated that all necessary arrangements were made for the success of the vaccination exercise.

The Emir explained that over 1.5 million children from 0-5 years are targeted for the vaccination and over 3,000 teams comprising over 15,000 ad-hoc-staff were mobilized for the exercise to reach every child across the 27 local government areas of the state.

“The vaccination aims to strengthen the immunity of our children against any possible resurgence of the Polio virus which we eradicated out of our state for the past 13 years.

“It is a collective responsibility to keep our children and our society safe from this and another deadly virus, therefore we called on everyone to play his expected role for achieving the desired goals,” Dr. Sambo stated
