Aminu Alhassan Dantata, distinguished businessman and elder statesman, has died at the age of 93 following a prolonged illness.
A family source confirmed that Dantata passed away in the wee hours of Saturday.
Born on May 19, 1931, Dantata was widely respected for his accomplishments in real estate, petroleum, and finance. Beyond business, he was deeply committed to philanthropy, with significant contributions to education and youth development.
Dantata also played a role in public service, having served in the Kano State Government and as a member of the Constitution Drafting Committee that prepared Nigeria’s 1979 Constitution.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
