The Emir of Rano, Amb. Dr. Muhammad Isah Umaru Autan Bawo, has called on the Rano Local Government Council in Kano to provide an alternative location for traders operating around the Rano General Hospital to address persistent traffic congestion and frequent road accidents in the area.

The monarch appealed during his traditional Sallah homage visit to the Rano Local Government Secretariat as part of activities marking this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Rano Zonal Information Officer, Abdullahi Musa Gyadi Gyadi, the Emir noted that residents of the Rano Emirate and visitors to the hospital have repeatedly expressed concern over recurring accidents linked to congestion caused by roadside trading.

He urged the council to allocate a designated space where traders can be relocated away from the hospital vicinity to ensure safety and ease traffic flow.

The Emir also commended the administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf for its continued support to Rano and other emirate councils across Kano State through the execution of developmental projects.

He further appreciated the cordial working relationship between the Rano Emirate and the local government council, praising the efforts of the council under the leadership of Chairman Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano in implementing development initiatives.

The monarch called on wealthy individuals to extend support to the less privileged and urged parents to pay closer attention to the upbringing of their children, particularly in ensuring access to both Islamic and Western education.

Responding, the Council Chairman, Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano, represented by the Council Speaker, Ahmad Jibrin, assured that the council would soon deliberate on measures to address the recurring accidents near the hospital and provide a lasting solution.

He also disclosed plans for Rano, Bunkure, and Kibiya local government councils to collaborate in strengthening security efforts to safeguard lives and property amid rising cases of kidnapping and other criminal activities in parts of the state.

The Speaker further sympathized with the Rano Emirate and the public over the recent abduction of the Kibiya Local Government Council Secretary, praying for his safe release.

Earlier, the Director of Personnel Management in the council, Ado Dan’azumi, assured that workers would continue to collaborate with the local government and the Emirate to ensure effective implementation of developmental projects.

He also commended the Emir for sustaining the tradition of Sallah homage visits to the council secretariat.
