Editor

No fewer than 70 houses and barns were destroyed by a windstorm that wreaked havoc in Mabudi, Sabon Gida, and other communities in Langtang South Local Government Council of Plateau State.

Our correspondent gathered that the devastating rainstorm on Wednesday night, which accompanied the rain, left a trail of destruction in its wake.

Residents of the area told our correspondent that about 70 houses had their roofs blown off, while several buildings collapsed.

Nanbol Nanzing, a resident of one of the affected communities, lamented the incident and called for intervention from the state government.

The council boss of Langtang South Local Government Council, Hon. Nanfa Nbin, confirmed the incident in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Iliya Bako.

According to the statement, the Local Emergency Management Committee in Langtang South Local Government, constituted by the council boss, had visited affected households to sympathize with the victims.
