The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq, has conferred the historic title of Jagaban Matan Hausa on Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda, wife of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.
The turbaning ceremony, held at the Emir’s palace shortly after the traditional Hawan Magajiya (Sallar Gani) celebrations, was attended by top political leaders, traditional rulers, and women titleholders from across the region.
Presenting the letter of appointment, the Emir praised Hajiya Zulaihat for her dedication to women’s empowerment and community service, noting that she is the first governor’s wife in Hausa history to receive the title.
He described her as a “bridge-builder” whose work has advanced inclusiveness and development in Katsina State and beyond.
Governor Radda, APC State Chairman Alhaji Sani Aliyu Daura, and a large delegation of supporters were present at the occasion, which was marked by colourful cultural displays and celebrations.
The recognition of Hajiya Zulaihat as Jagaban Matan Hausa underscores her growing influence in promoting gender empowerment and community development, particularly through initiatives that uplift women and youth across the state.
