The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has confirmed that the Port Harcourt Refinery in Rivers State has commenced crude oil processing.
NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, confirmed on Tuesday that the loading of trucks would start immediately.
“Port Harcourt Refinery begins production, truck loading starts today, Tuesday,” he said.
According to him, the River State-based refinery will operate at 60 percent capacity.
Soneye confirmed that the refinery aims to process 60,000 bpd.
When fully operational, the refinery has a combined production capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.
