Police Rescue Three Abducted Children in Kaduna

The operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command have rescued three children who were kidnapped in the Kurmin Mashi area of Kaduna South Local Government in Kaduna State.

This was made available by a security and counterinsurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on his verified X handle (formerly Twitter), who stated that the arrests of the suspects followed a complaint lodged by the relatives of the victims on  Monday, August 25 2025.

The suspects, according to Makama, had made a ransom demand of N50 million from the relatives of the abducted children.

He said, “The victims were identified as Aslam Umar Lukman, Suleiman Umar Tanko and Aliyu Umar Tanko, whose ages range between 14, 12, and 10, respectively.

It was gathered police operatives acted on intelligence and arrested one Richard Philip, 19, of Calabar Road, Sabon Layi, on August 26.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and revealed that he conspired with two others, identified as Ibrahim Ma’aruf, 18, and Abubakar Sadiq, 15, both residents of Kurmin Mashi, to kidnap the children.

Makama said, “The children were rescued unhurt from Philip’s residence where they were being kept.

All three suspects were arrested and provided useful information to the police.

Security sources noted that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
