The Kano State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security measures ahead of the Takutaha Maulud celebration, which begins on Thursday, 11 September 2025.
In a goodwill message on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, extended festive greetings to the people of Kano and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and hitch-free commemoration across the state.
The CP warned that violent conduct, including thuggery, armed robbery, and extortion, would not be tolerated during the festivities.
He noted that surveillance units and operatives have been strategically deployed to forestall any breach of peace, with offenders to be swiftly apprehended and prosecuted.
CP Bakori urged residents to use the celebration period to pray for lasting peace and security in Kano and across Nigeria, stressing that stability was essential for social and economic development.
