PDP Gets New Executives in Jigawa

After a long legal tussle between warrying factions in Jigawa state People Democratic Party (PDP), the party has yesterday conducted the state congress and elected its new executives.

The Congress was conducted after the Jigawa state high court sitting in Dutse had on Friday 8th January 2021 dismissed the case filed by 2015- and 2019-People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the state, Mr. Aminu Ibrahim Ringim seeking the court to stop the state party headquarter from conducting the Congress.

The Congress’s was conducted at Dutse stadium under the Chairmanship of the congress committee Dr Umar Isa Ardo.

While, declaring the election of the new party executives, Dr Musa ardo said, the election was conducted peacefully and in accordance with the PDP Constitution.

He said after satisfying all the party conditions and scoring the highest votes, Hon Babandi Ibrahim Gumel was declared as the new state party chairman.

Dr Ardo however charged all the newly elected executives to work hard for unity and progress of the party.

“You are the state party leaders now, I hope you will carry all party members along with justice and equity, also work tirelessly until you reclaimed Jigawa to PDP in 2023” Ardo declared.

In his acceptance speech, the new elected party Chairman on behalf of the new exco, Hon Babandi promise to entrench democracy and ensure rule of law in the party with equally opportunity to all faithful party members.

Also, in his submission, the state party leader and one of the PDP founding fathers, Alhaji Sule Lamido urged the new executives to reach out to all the party aggrieved members and ensure they lead the party members as a single family.
