Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, on Tuesday, offered automatic employment to nine former members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from Abia origin who recently received the Presidential NYSC Honours Award in their various states of service.
He announced while receiving the awardees in his office, led by the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Gladys Adama.
The Governor directed the Head of Service to issue immediate appointment letters to the beneficiaries.
“On behalf of the state government, you are leaving here with a token. But beyond that, I hereby temporarily lift the embargo on employment to employ the nine of you, except if any of you is not interested,” Otti declared.
He stressed that no further interviews were necessary, saying the honourees had already proven their merit through excellence. “All you need to do is your documentation, and then you can start work on Monday,” he added.
