Voting was disrupted in Ejigbo, Osun State, following an outbreak of violence at a polling area during the ongoing governorship election.
The incident reportedly began after a youth discovered materials alleged to be linked to vote-buying and belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the youth, he and others seized the materials because they could not stand by and watch what they described as an illegal activity take place without taking action.
The situation reportedly escalated when individuals said to be associated with the materials arrived at the scene and allegedly attempted to whisk the youth away.
Tension subsequently heightened, forcing voters, residents and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to scamper for safety as people fled the polling area.
Video footage from the scene showed residents running in different directions, while motorcycles and vehicles moved through the area as people attempted to escape the unfolding chaos.
It is also unclear whether anyone was injured.
