The newly appointed Asaoni of Ora-Igbomina, Oba Johnson Adekanmi Abikoye has alleged the members of All Progressive Congress (APC) and its supporters in Osun State of planning to cause a political crisis by invading the local government secretariat with political thugs armed with sophisticated weapons over the Appeal Court Judgement that returned the immediate past elected Council officials back to the office on Monday.

Faulting the judgement of the Appeal, he declared that such a judgement was capable of causing a multi-political crisis in the society, adding that such a judgement could not hold water presently.

Oba Abikoye who reposed confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke led the present administration in the State to oversee the conduct of free and fair local government elections, adding that Governor Adeleke and his team have been governing the State with candor and humility.

The monarch also declared that Barrister Hashim Abioye, the Chairman of Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) was capable of conducting the Local Government election slated to be held on 22nd of February, 2025, commending Barrister Abioye for providing an enabling environment for the registered political parties to participate in the forthcoming local government election in the State without fear or favour.

In a press statement issued by Oba Abikoye which was made available to Journalists on Tuesday, he berated the State members of the APC to self the idea of returning back to the Council Secretariat as a result of the acclaimed judgement of the Court of Appeal on Monday, insisting that the judgement did not return the affected former Council officials back to the office.

Cautioning the APC members of embarking on the unlawful acts of planning to return to the local government offices in the State, Oba Abikoye urged the security agents to be on alert for any breakdown of law and order in the council areas of the State.
