Okpebholo Effects Minority Shake-Up on Education Ministry Board

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has effected a minor change in the political appointments of some agencies in the Ministry of Education.

The affected agencies are the Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BTVE), State Secondary Education Board (SSEB) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor said the change affected the headship of the agencies.

He said Dr Maureen Osaro Ekhoragbon, who was the chairman of the Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BTVE) has been redeployed to the State Secondary Education Board (SSEB) as its chairman.

Also deployed was Barrister Onomen Goodness Brigg, from the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to the Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BTVE) as chairman.

In the same vein, the Chairman of SSEB, Omonzane Ebanehita Sonia has been redeployed to SUBEB as Acting Chairman.

Ikhilor, said the new SUBEB acting chairman appointment is a sequel to confirmation by the State House of Assembly while the reshufflement is with immediate effect.

He said the change was to ensure operational efficiency and improve quality service delivery in the Education Sector of the State.
