The Nollywood director Shina Sanyaolu has passed away.
He was a well-known Yoruba-focused Nollywood film producer and director before his passing.
As of the time of this report, the reason for his death and the circumstances surrounding it are still unclear.

The death of Sanyaolu was verified by Bolaji Amusan, President of the Nigerian Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association.

On Wednesday, he posted on his Instagram page, “Sleep well, uncle Shina Sanyaolu.”

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko also reacted to the news by saying the deceased had a beneficial impact on a great number of people.

“Shina Sanyaolu was just not a remarkable man; to all who had the privilege of knowing him, he was a beacon of kindness and warmth,” the author said.

“His passion for the arts and his steadfast support of our sector were unparalleled. Shina was always there for us, extending a helping hand and opening doors when there seemed to be none.

He made the UK feel like home to those of us who visited in the 1980s. extending a warm welcome to us, providing lodging for us, and even taking a break from his hectic schedule to chauffeur us around.

“Shina, your energy touched innumerable lives, and your charity knew no bounds. You were a real treasure. We find comfort in the knowledge that your legacy endures in the souls you have touched, even if the world feels empty without you.

The Honourable, Two Wives, and other productions benefited from Sanyaolu’s contribution.
