The NNPP Gubernatorial candidate, Eng. Abba Kabir Yusif on Thursday unveiled his political blueprint as well as his running mate, comrade Aminu Abdulsalam.
The event which took place at Meena event center, lodge road, Kano, entertained dignitaries, such as Sen. Hanga, Sen. Alhassan Rurum, Sen. Baffa Bichi, Sen. Kawu Sumaila, and thousands of followers who emerged to show their diligent support of the NNPP movement.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Party, Umar Haruna Doguwa represented by Dr. Umar Haruna Zakirai welcomed the distinguished guests to the occasion and said it was the first of its kind in unveiling the blueprint of their mandate.
Adding that the security apparatus of the state will adore and accept the new concept of dynamism NNPP will present.
Engineer Abba Kabir Yusif, while presenting his running mate comrade Aminu Abdulsalam said today is a history in their party and also to Kano state.
“Before I decided to nominate him, we looked at his character, humility, thrust, and experience as a political icon.
“Comrade Abdulsalam is a patriotic citizen of Kano State towards its development and progress”. He said.
While reading his citation, it was unveiled that Abdulsalam has gathered vast experiences in social, educational, economic, and political space.
The nominated Deputy Governor, while addressing the audience expressed his gratitude towards his nomination, and assured him to diligently serve his duties and functions.
“The trust in me will not fall in vain, we intend to run a government that will be transparent, I reassured all party members, and the people of Kano State, we are going to have a change from bad governance, to a transparent and entrusted government”. Abdulsalam stated.
Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa spokesperson of Abba Kabir Yusif narrated that the blueprint is a document for public consumption, and stressed that the content has 13 project commitments in different sectors of the economy. Also, the blueprint is in serious synergy with the national blueprint presented by Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The NNPP Gubernatorial candidate, Eng. Abba Kabir Yusif, toasted and read through the blueprint, assured that the programs included are for the benefit and development of the Kano state people.
While reading the blueprint, the educational sectors include improving education in both private and public schools, recruitment of qualified teachers, establishment of E-learning, and scholarships for tertiary students. Girl child education initiatives, free O-level examinations, integration of Qur’anic and Tsangaya education.
While on the health sector, the NNPP Gubernatorial candidate said “Kano being one of the populated states in Nigeria, the sector will be put in a good place to improve the health sector.”
These include improving the state healthcare system, recruitment of human resources for the health, mobile clinic and ambulance services, free maternal and child health program, health equipment and maintenance, promoting cleanliness of hospitals, the establishment of the Kano center of disease control, reviewing of Contributory health management agency, regulation of private health institutions, health financing, primary healthcare services, special public health interventions, and other initiatives.
While the agricultural sector also had a lot plan of structures through strategic value change, by supporting agrochemicals production and supply, rehabilitation and expansion of irrigation facilities, rehabilitation of earth dams, the establishment of agro-industrial estates, establishment of commodity aggregation centers, protection of ranches, conservation of Kano zoological garden and wildlife, agricultural extension services, agricultural financing, adoption of the national agricultural policy, agricultural value chain development, re-establishment of modern abattoir and others.
While other sectors include, infrastructural development, road rehabilitation, strengthening security, water projects, improving climate change and environmental control, Tax control, empowerment, sports, and entertainment.
The climax of the event includes unveiling a new song for the NNPP Gubernatorial candidate by Tijjani Gandu, comical scenes by Mallam Mai Dalla-Dalla, and a group photograph by the NNPP candidates.
