The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has successfully drilled four oil wells in the Kolmani area of Bauchi State as part of its ongoing oil and gas exploration in northern Nigeria.
The update was shared by NNPCL Director, Yusuf Usman, during a two-day government-citizen engagement session organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna.
Usman reaffirmed NNPCL’s commitment to unlocking the energy potential of the region, revealing that the company is currently evaluating suitable technologies for the next phase of drilling operations in Kolmani.
He also disclosed the construction of five Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants in Kogi State.
The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s CNG drive aimed at improving energy accessibility and reducing reliance on petrol.
“These projects will significantly enhance gas supply and energy access across the northern region,” Usman stated.
