The Nigerian Army has begun recruitment for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) course 29/2026 and opened its online application portal.
The Army said eligible Nigerians are invited to apply for commission as officers through the DSSC.
He added that the programme is open to civilians and serving military personnel with relevant professional qualifications.
According to the Army, successful applicants will be commissioned into specialised corps to support national defence and security operations.
The available corps are the Nigerian Army engineers, Nigerian Army signals, Nigerian Army medical corps, Nigerian Army electrical and mechanical engineers, and the Nigerian Army education corps.
The army said applications are free of charge and must be completed online, adding that the application portal will remain open from January 7 to February 4, 2026.
The Army advised interested candidates to apply early and ensure that all required information is correctly submitted.
It said applicants can make enquiries through the recruitment help lines on 08179269294 or 08109959294 between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm daily.
The army said applications should be submitted through its official recruitment website.
