The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Hajiya Zubaida Umar, has commended the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, for what she described as the rapid pace of development and effective governance recorded across the state.

Hajiya Zubaida Umar made the commendation on Thursday when the media aides to the Kebbi State Governor, led by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed BK, paid her a courtesy visit at her office in Abuja.

The NEMA Director-General praised Governor Nasir Idris for translating his campaign promises into tangible development projects and for demonstrating commitment to the welfare of the people of Kebbi State.

She particularly highlighted the Governor’s proactive approach to disaster management, noting that whenever communities in the state are affected by flooding, the state government often takes immediate measures to support affected residents even before the arrival of intervention from the Federal Government.

According to her, Kebbi State has witnessed remarkable progress in several critical sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education and agriculture.

“The development has been spread across the 21 local government areas of the state. I can testify to Governor Nasir Idris’ achievements because I was in Kebbi and personally saw the changes in many sectors.”

Hajiya Zubaida also expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that the Federal Government is currently constructing houses for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kebbi State, with the project nearing completion.

She urged the people of Kebbi State to continue to support the present administration, including Governor Nasir Idris’ second-term bid, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the state.

Earlier, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed BK, thanked the NEMA Director-General for receiving the delegation.

He explained that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen collaboration and deepen the relationship between NEMA and the Kebbi State Government, particularly in areas of emergency management and humanitarian response.

The Commissioner emphasized that the administration of Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris has recorded significant achievements across both rural and urban communities.

“The Governor has touched virtually every sector. I believe that during our campaign, we will have so many achievements and projects to showcase to the people of Kebbi State.”

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy and ensuring that the impact of government is felt across the state.
