The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into the Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) and the Federal Government Academy (FGA).
The examination, held on June 14, 2025, took place across centers in Nigeria, as well as in the Benin Republic and Togo.
Announcing the release during a press briefing at the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja on Wednesday, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, received the results from NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi.
According to her, 64,578 pupils registered for the exam, out of which 61,290 sat for it, while 3,288 were absent. She also expressed concern over 52 reported cases of examination malpractice—two from Lagos State and 50 from Rivers State.
“The NCEE is a highly competitive exam for Primary 6 pupils seeking admission into Junior Secondary School 1 in 80 Federal Unity Colleges spread across Nigeria. These schools continue to play a key role in promoting national unity,” the minister said.
She highlighted that 13 candidates scored the highest mark of 202 out of a possible 210, while 27 candidates scored as low as 1.
For the Federal Government Academy entrance exam, 3,421 candidates registered, 3,141 sat for the exam, and 280 were absent. The highest score recorded was 194, while the lowest was 1.
Prof. Ahmad emphasized that the admission process will follow the approved national criteria: 60% on merit, 30% based on state representation, and 10% on exigency.
She urged the Senior Secondary Education Department to conclude the admission process promptly and in accordance with these guidelines.
Reassuring parents, the minister said the Federal Government remains committed to improving infrastructure, feeding, and the quality of teachers in the Federal Unity Colleges, which continue to attract growing interest from families nationwide.
