To combat substance and drug abuse in Kano, the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has forged partnerships with community groups, the Rano Apex Development Association, the Rano Ce A Gabanmu Development Association, and the Rano Emirate Council.
During a recent courtesy visit to the Emir of Rano, Muhammad Isa Umaru, the Kano State Commandant of the NDLEA, Ahmed Idris Ahmed, emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing the growing challenge of drug abuse.
The visit aimed to strengthen the existing relationship between the NDLEA and the emirate, fostering a united front against substance abuse in the region.
The Commander represented by the Bunkure, Kibiya, Garko, Kibiya, and Rano Area Commander, Muhammed Sani Kabir, said the NDLEA Command is committed to curbing alarming abuse and intake of injection and marijuana in the Rano axis.
“This partnership will strengthen our effort to Prevent drug abuse and promote rehabilitation,” he added.
Kabir disclosed the agency is planning to build rehabilitation in the Rano Local Government Area and a pre-election-free drug awareness campaign is in the pipeline for the successful conduct of the forthcoming local government election.
In his remarks, the Emir of Rano, Muhammad Isa Umaru, promised to support the agency in its drive to rid our community of escalating issues of drug abuse.
