Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namad inspected the N6.4 billion Gwaram – Basirka bridge and reiterated his commitment to the timely completion of the project.
The governor told the contractor that, the state government is fully determined for timely payment of the project according to the terms of the contract award.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Zainab Rabo, quoted the governor expressing satisfaction with work at the site which reached 24% and the quality job, urged the contractor to sustain the tempo.
“This contract is expected to be completed in less than one year, because of its significant to the movement of goods and services for the social and economic wellbeing of our people”
“The bridge is one of the key strategy bridges that link Northwest and Northwest regions of the country, noted that timely completion of the bridge will ease the difficulties faced by motorists following its collapse as a result of flooding.”
According to the statement, Governor Namadi, however, reiterated the commitment of his government to close the bridge infrastructural gap in the state, in that direction, the government awarded 41 road projects in 2024 alone and completed 26 others inherited from the previous administration.
