Nagaski LG Offers Free Medical Outreach to 2,000 People

An official said that no fewer than 2,000 patients benefited from free medical outreach offered by Nagaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Hon. Maniru Abubakar-Warah, the Council Chairman disclosed this on the sideline of the closing ceremony of the exercise at Warah, headquarters of the Local Government.

He said the medical team had successfully performed 100 surgeries to people inflicted with different diseases.

The Chairman noted that the team had also examined and treated 1,000 people with different ailments and provided drugs for them, adding that 450 pediatrics patients were treated in addition to 50 patients with eye problems.

Abubakar-Warah said the essence of the exercise was to assist the people to secure health, “because health is wealth. Without health, you cannot transact business, you cannot go the farm, you cannot do so many things in life.”

He appealed to the people to reciprocate the gesture by extending all the necessary support and cooperation to the present administration of Gov. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.

The chairman thanked the governor for the support and encouragement which gave the council chairmen the opportunity to deliver the dividends of democracy to their constituents.

Also contributing, the Head of Free Medical Outreach of Ngaski, Dr Mansur Alhasan-Libata from Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Birnin Kebbi, said the exercise was conducted hitch-free.

He appreciated the people of the area for their perciverence, decorum and understanding throughout the period of the exercise.

A cross section of benefiting patients interviewed expressed appreciation to the chairman for his foresight to extend a hand of fellowship to the sick, as many didn’t have the means to visit health facilities for treatment.
