Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has commissioned a state-of-the-art laboratory, pediatric ward, and office complex at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital (PSSH) in Jos, marking a significant milestone in the state’s healthcare development.
The hospital is being upgraded to serve as a medical hub, equipped with modern equipment and quality services.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong, in a remark, expressed gratitude to the governor for his swift intervention and consistent approvals to revamp the health sector.
Dr. Ba’amlong further disclosed that all General Hospitals in the 17 Local Government Areas have undergone significant upgrades, while the health needs of citizens are met through the state’s health insurance scheme.
On the other hand, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Christopher Yilgwan noted that the upgrades have transformed the hospital into a world-class medical facility.
This development is part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve healthcare delivery and infrastructure.
