King Mohammed VI on Wednesday presided over a solemn oath-taking ceremony for Morocco’s newest generation of military officers at the Royal Palace in Tetouan, reaffirming the deep ties between the monarchy and the armed forces.
Accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, the King led the traditional ceremony at Mechouar Square, formally inducting graduates from Morocco’s top military and paramilitary academies. Newly promoted non-commissioned officers who have attained officer status also took part in the event.
In a symbolic gesture, this year’s graduating class was named in honor of Princess Lalla Latifa, mother of King Mohammed VI, paying tribute to Moroccan mothers and their foundational role in nurturing citizens committed to national values.
The ceremony featured the national anthem, a flag salute, and a review of the troops by the King and royal princes. Graduates hailed from elite institutions including the Royal Military Academy, Royal Air Academy, Royal Naval Academy, and the Royal School of Military Medical Services.
Beyond honoring academic and military achievement, the event underscored Morocco’s continued commitment to building a strong, values-driven military leadership aligned with the country’s national identity and royal legacy.
