The Michael Imodu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin, has concluded plans to honour Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, with the Labour-Friendly Governor Award.
The Director-General of the Institute, Comrade Isa Aremu, announced this on Thursday during an Industrial Relations Workshop organized by MINILS in Kaduna.
He said the award was in recognition of Governor Yusuf’s proactive and inclusive approach to labour relations, and his administration’s unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare despite the large civil service population in Kano State.
“His inclusive and responsive attitude towards labour issues is a step in the right direction and worthy of emulation,” Aremu stated.
Responding on behalf of the governor, the Head of Civil Service of Kano State, Abdullahi Musa, expressed appreciation for the honour, describing it as a motivation for the state government to continue prioritizing workers’ wellbeing.
He assured that the message would be duly conveyed to the Governor, adding that both the government and people of Kano State deeply value the recognition from the Institute.
