The Northern wing of the Mandate Group created in the early 1990s as an independent campaign group that worked towards the actualization of Tinubu’s presidential success in 2023, has alleged that members of the group are being excluded in the current )All Progressives Congress) APC-led administration.

This was revealed by the Kano State Chairman of the Mandate Group, Saleh Umar, during a press briefing held in Kano. According to him, the group had played a significant role in ensuring the incursion of the Tinubu group into all the Six geo-political zones in the nation which he said had subsequently led to the emergence of Tinubu as the President of Nigeria.

He explained that the group was under the leadership of Yusuf Garba Ali and Chief Bisi Akande among other personalities. He added that it is unfortunate that those who have played a very significant role in the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of the Republic of Nigeria are been excluded from the Tinubu-led administration.

“The Mandate Group is no doubt a platform that had offered unquantifiable assistance to the success of Mr. President’s Presidential bid. However, as a founding member who has been involved in the activities of the group, I felt it is unfortunate that people that matter while the processes are ongoing are not relevant. I want to use this opportunity to call on Mr. President to look back and consider his true loyalists for a better administration,” he said.
