The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has partnered with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) to support Nigerian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) in Algiers, Algeria.

The collaboration aimed to give Nigerian entrepreneurs access to new markets, showcase their products, and build cross-border partnerships, boosting intra-African trade, innovation, and economic growth.

LCCI noted that the initiative strengthened the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses while advancing the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by opening opportunities for diversification, job creation, and value-chain expansion across the continent.

Yusuf Daya, director of AU/AfCFTA and International Relations at Afreximbank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to promoting intra-African trade and private-sector-led growth.

“The Intra-African Trade Fair is a catalyst for economic transformation, providing African businesses opportunities to expand and strengthen regional value chains,” he said.

Daya added that supporting 20 Nigerian SMEs at IATF2025 empowers local enterprises while advancing AfCFTA objectives.

The Chamber plans an even larger role at IATF2027, which will be held in Lagos, by mobilizing Nigeria’s business community to actively participate.

IATF2025, held from September 4 to 10, attracted more than 112,000 virtual and physical visitors from 132 countries and showcased 2,148 exhibitors, culminating in $48.3 billion in trade and investment deals signed over the seven-day continental exposition.
