In recognition of his outstanding dedication to expanding healthcare access for underserved communities, the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), on Thursday, appointed Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, Chairman of the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation, as its Ambassador.

The honorary title was conferred during a strategic advocacy visit to the Foundation’s headquarters in Kano, jointly organized by KSCHMA and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).

The visit aimed to strengthen partnerships with philanthropic organizations in pursuit of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Kano State.

Presenting the certificate of recognition, KSCHMA Executive Secretary, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, described Dr. Garba as “a true champion of health equity.”

She lauded his recent commitment to sponsor the enrollment of 200 vulnerable individuals into the state’s healthcare scheme, calling it “a powerful act of leadership and a model for others to emulate.”

“The Ambassadorial title affirms Dr. Garba’s critical role as an advocate, ally, and public voice for equitable access to quality healthcare for all,” Dr. Muktar added.

In his response, Dr. Garba expressed appreciation for the honour and reaffirmed his commitment to building an inclusive healthcare system in Kano.

“Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege.

“This recognition strengthens our resolve. My foundation will continue to partner with KSCHMA and other stakeholders to ensure no one is left behind,” he said.

He also urged other private sector players and civil society actors to support the cause.

As a KSCHMA Ambassador, Dr. Garba will help raise public awareness, mobilize resources, and advocate for broader healthcare coverage across Kano State.
