Kogi State Government, through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Kogi RAAMP) in partnership with the State Ministry of Energy and Rural Development, will on Tuesday, officially flag off the construction of the 12.5km Unosi–Odonto–Ogigiri rural road in Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
According to a statement by Kogi RAAMP Communication Officer, Mr. Ndamodu Ali, the ceremony will hold at Adogo, Ajaokuta LGA, by 10:00 a.m., and will be performed by the Executive Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, fondly called the “Chief Servant” and “Rural-Friendly Governor.”
The event will feature the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Engr. Abdulmutalib Muhammad, as Chief Host; the Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Sani Egidi Abdulraheem (SEA), as Host; and the Executive Chairman of Ajaokuta LGA, Hon. Aliyu Haruna Ogido, as Co-Host.
State Project Coordinator of Kogi RAAMP, Engr. Sheidu Obansa Adamu, described the project as part of RAAMP’s intervention to boost rural connectivity, improve agricultural marketing, and stimulate economic growth.
He added that the road will enhance access to farmlands, ease transportation of produce, and drive socio-economic development in the benefiting communities.
“Come one, come all, and witness the transformation of our rural infrastructure,” the statement urged.
