The former State Deputy Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Lawal Mohammed Jidolo, a staunch PDP stalwart, Sale Gambo, alongside thousands of supporters, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zuru.
Receiving the defecting persons on Wednesday in Zuru, the Kebbi State APC chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, welcomed them to the party and assured them of equal treatment.
Presenting them before Gov. Nasir Idris, the party chairman told them that they have made a very good and wise choice for coming to the ruling party.
While assuring them of full recognition and support, Kana-Zuru urged them to join hands with other party members to ensure party’s victory at all levels.
In his speech, the former State Deputy Chairman of PDP, Hon. Lawal Mohammed Jidolo said their defections remained a way of promoting democracy in the state.
He attributed their defection to the milestone achievements by the present administration under Governor Nasir Idris.
Mohammed Jidolo said: “We have defected to APC to further support the mission and vision of Governor Idris, Kauran Gwandu, of transforming the state.
“I am appealing to all those good people that truly love Kebbi State to flourish, and still in the opposition parties to rethink. Let them come and join hands with the people’s governor to take Kebbi State to greater heights.
“There is no doubt, we are satisfied with the tramandous achievements recorded by His Excellency just within two years and not only in Zuru Emirate but across the state.”
He then appealed to the all APC stakeholders under Zuru Emirate to consider the new members as brothers and sisters in progress, “because together we shall make Kebbi greater.
“Building a giant Kebbi of our dream requires collective efforts from all, hence the need for all of us to rally round the governor and support him to deliver the goods successfully.”
