Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris has flagged the construction of 17 kilometer road from Kwakabo junction to Banizumbo village in the Dandi Local Government Area of the state.
Kick-starting the road construction, on Monday, he said the project was part of his campaign promises.
He assured the people of the area that his administration would ensure the fulfillment of all campaign pledges for the good of all.
Idris, who was in Dandi local government on a thank you tour, expressed appreciation for supporting him during and after the election.
The road contract was awarded to an indigenous contractor, BK Construction Company to boost the morale of indigenous companies to create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths to contribute to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Speaking earlier, the Hon. Commissioner for Works Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim assured the governor that the firm was highly experienced and credible.
He said: “I know they will deliver quality work according to the specifications.”
The commissioner noted that the contractor had already been mobilized to the site.
