Kano Warns Against Illegal Parking, Plans Traffic Decongestion Measures

Editor

Kano State Ministry of Transportation has warned motorists against indiscriminate parking along Bello Road and other major streets, following growing public complaints over worsening traffic congestion.

The State Commissioner for Transportation, Ibrahim Ali Namadi Dala, announced an inspection tour of Bello Road to assess the persistent gridlock caused by haphazardly parked trailers and trucks.

He stated that the ministry was compelled to act after receiving numerous petitions from residents and business owners, who lamented the negative impact on economic and social activities.

“The Kano State Government will not tolerate any action that disrupts free vehicular movement, despite our ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure across the state,” Dala emphasized.

“Plans are already underway to address all challenges hindering smooth transportation in Kano.”

He further highlighted Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to transforming Kano into a world-class megacity, citing the execution of multiple developmental projects in the past two weeks as part of this vision.

In response, the Chairman of the Singer Market Development Association commended the government’s proactive steps and pledged full support and cooperation to ensure the initiative’s success.

The Ministry of Transportation urges all stakeholders to comply with traffic regulations, warning that defaulters will face strict penalties as part of efforts to restore order on Kano roads.
