The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced the resumption dates for the commencement of the first term of the 2026/2027 academic session across public and private schools in the state.
According to the Ministry, boarding schools will resume on Sunday, 6th September 2026, while day schools will resume on Monday, 7th September 2026, respectively.
According to the calendar, the first term will end on Saturday 12th December, 2026.
The Commissioner of Education, Gwani Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, urges all students, parents and guardians to make the necessary preparations and ensure that students return to school promptly on the stipulated dates.
School authorities are equally directed to ensure adequate preparations for the smooth commencement of academic activities and to provide a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
The Commissioner wishes all students, teachers and other education stakeholders a successful and productive 2026/2027 academic session.
