In line with its commitment to attract credible investors and mobilize private sector funding for infrastructure development, the Kano State Government has constituted a committee to review its existing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) policy document.
The Chairman of the PPP Policy Review Committee and Special Adviser to the Governor on State Affairs, Usman Bala Muhammad, disclosed this during the opening of a three-day PPP Policy and Manual Review Workshop held in Zaria, Kaduna State.
According to Bala, the revised manual, developed by a team of consultants—will strengthen transparency, competitiveness, and accountability in future PPP engagements.
He explained that the review became necessary to address challenges from previous agreements and to establish a framework that ensures mutual benefits for both the government and investors.
He urged participants to work diligently and contribute meaningfully to the development of the strategic document aimed at driving lasting economic prosperity in Kano State.
In his welcome address, the Director General of the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (KanInvest), Muhammad Nazir Halliru, described PPPs as one of the most reliable sources of alternative funding for infrastructure projects.
He reaffirmed the State Government’s resolve to produce a PPP policy and manual that meet global standards and stand the test of time.
