Kano State Government has restated its determination to address water supply challenges across the state, with renewed efforts to improve access and infrastructure.

This assurance was given by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Haruna Doguwa, during an inspection visit to the Joda Water Treatment Plant.

The visit coincided with the installation of a new pumping machine designed to supply water to Gabasawa and Gezawa Local Government Areas, as well as parts of Nasarawa and Yankaba communities.

Doguwa noted that the state government is actively working to resolve the ongoing water crisis and ensure a consistent and adequate water supply to residents.

He further disclosed that rehabilitation works are ongoing at various water treatment plants across the state to enhance overall distribution efficiency.

He assured residents of the affected areas that water would soon begin flowing into their communities and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any acts of sabotage targeting water infrastructure.

In their separate remarks, the Chairmen of Gezawa and Gabasawa Local Government Area, Mukaddas Bala Jogana and Pharmacist Sagir Usman Abubakar, commended the state government for reviving the long-neglected Joda Water Treatment Plant.

They pledged to support its operations and monitor activities at the facility to ensure optimal performance.

Both leaders also expressed deep appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Commissioner Doguwa for their dedication to improving water access in rural and urban communities.
