The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, has reaffirmed that 8 October 2025, is the deadline for remitting 50 percent of the state’s Hajj seat allocation for the 2026 pilgrimage.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in his office on Thursday, Danbappa explained that the directive came from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which requires all states to remit half of their allocated seats by the set date.
Kano has been allotted 5,684 seats for the 2026 Hajj.
He urged intending pilgrims to take advantage of the window to process their Hajj drafts promptly, warning that failure to meet the deadline could affect the state’s full allocation.
Danbappa further noted that the deadline for the payment of the final full Hajj fare remains December 31, 2025.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board, Yusuf Lawan, prayed for Allah’s guidance and urged stakeholders to intensify efforts to meet NAHCON’s requirements.
