Editor

Ado Kibiya is the new Chairman of the Kano State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The election results were announced in the wee hours at the Pillars Stadium, Sabon Gari, on Sunday by Halilu Abubakar Mazagani, Chairman of the election committee from the party’s National Headquarters.

Kibiya secured 3,964 votes to defeat his opponent, Nura Nuhu, who had 244 votes.

Barrister Abdul Fatah Muhammad administered the oath of office to the 39 newly elected state party leaders, including Hon. Kibiya.

The new leadership is expected to steer the PDP’s affairs in Kano, as the party works towards strengthening its presence and strategies ahead of upcoming political activities.

In his acceptance speech, Kibiya thanked party members for their confidence and promised to lead with transparency and inclusiveness, aiming to revitalize the PDP in Kano State.

Kibiya was a one-time Commissioner for Agriculture under Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s administration between 1999 and 2003.
