Kano State Government has entered into a strategic partnership with BrandEscort Communications, a leading brand and event marketing firm, to host Cycling Kano 2025, a landmark sporting event designed to promote healthy living, tourism, and youth engagement.

Scheduled for Saturday, 20 December 2025, the event will gather professional cyclists, fitness enthusiasts, and sports lovers from across Nigeria.

Beginning at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Cycling Kano 2025 will not only promote sports development but also showcase Kano’s cultural heritage, economic potential, and vibrant hospitality industry.

Speaking in Kano, the Special Adviser on Youth and Sports Development, Sani Musa Danja, said the initiative, organized annually by the state government in collaboration with BrandEscort, aims to encourage fitness and wellness among diverse groups, including young people, professionals, executives, and cycling enthusiasts.

Danja noted that the event, themed “Health and Wellness,” seeks to stimulate conversations around physical and mental well-being nationwide.

“We recognize the significant benefits of this event, which include promoting healthy competition, discovering cycling talent, and elevating the status of cycling in Nigeria.

It also presents a unique opportunity for corporate brands to align with the values of health, wellness, and community development,” he stated.

He added that the Kano State Ministry of Youth and Sports will coordinate logistics, funding, and security for the race route, while working closely with the Kano State Cycling Association and other stakeholders to ensure the event’s success.

On his part, Bamidele Adeleye, Managing Director of BrandEscort Communications, commended the state government for its support, describing the partnership as a model for public-private collaboration in sports development.

“Cycling Kano 2025 will not only inspire healthy lifestyles but also boost tourism, investment, and brand visibility,” Adeleye said.

Highlights of the event will include a Mini Tour of Kano, competitive races, fun rides for families and amateurs, cultural displays, and an exhibition of local products and services.

Thousands of participants from within and outside the state are expected, reinforcing Kano’s position as a gateway to Northern Nigeria.
