The Chairman of Nassarawa Local Government, Amb. Hon. Yusuf Shuaibu Imam (Ogan Boye), has convened a stakeholders’ meeting to gather community inputs for the preparation of the council’s 2026 budget.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the representative of the Kano State Ministry of Local Governments, Sani Abdu Gaya; the District Head of Nassarawa, Kabiru Tijjani Hashim; the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics; ward heads, community leaders, and religious leaders.
In his opening remarks, Amb. Imam urged residents to work hand in hand with their elected councilors to identify and prioritize projects that would address pressing community needs in the coming year.
He also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his continued efforts in delivering meaningful development projects to the grassroots.
The Chairman further appealed to youths who have attained the age of 18 to update their voter registration cards in preparation for future elections.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Local Governments, Sani Abdu Gaya lauded the well-organized meeting and encouraged residents to continue consultations over the next two weeks in order to present detailed project proposals.
Similarly, the Director of Personnel Management for the council, Ibrahim Muhammad, and the Head of Planning, Suleman Wada, urged participants to make useful contributions on issues affecting their welfare while praying for the smooth implementation of the budget, which remains an estimate subject to adjustments.
Others in attendance included the Secretary of Administration, Hon. Ado Muhammad Hotoro; the Leader of Councilors, Hon. Aliyu Musa Jibo; elected councilors; traditional leaders; civil society representatives; and members of the public.
