The Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing and maintaining habitable housing units for the state’s growing population.

Managing Director of the Corporation, Abdullahi Rabiu, made this known during a visit to the Chairman of the Kano State Pension Funds Trustee, Habu Mohammad Fagge, in his office.

Rabiu explained that the purpose of his visit was to formalise the takeover of 324 housing units across the Kwankwasiyya, Amana, and Bandirawo mega cities.

The units, which were previously under the management of the Pension Funds Trustee, have now been officially transferred to the Housing Corporation.

He described the development as a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to strengthen housing delivery and effective management.

The Managing Director also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his visionary leadership, noting that his innovative policies are transforming the state’s housing system and providing better opportunities for residents.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Pension Funds Trustee, Mohammed Fagge, confirmed that the transfer followed the state government’s full settlement of outstanding payments tied to the houses.

He recalled that the funds from the properties had previously been used to offset pension arrears in the state.

Fagge expressed optimism that, under the Housing Corporation’s management, the homes would soon be fully occupied by their rightful beneficiaries.

He also lauded the Corporation’s readiness to take on the responsibility of maintaining the units for sustainable housing development in Kano.
