The Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, has been recognized for his commitment to strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

He was presented with a Certificate of Attendance on Monday at the closing ceremony of a five-day retreat for Heads of Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and other political appointees in Kaduna.

The certificate was handed over by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who commended participants for their dedication throughout the retreat.

The program was designed to enhance governance, leadership skills, and service delivery across the state.

Dr. Yusuf was among the Commissioners who personally received their certificates from the Governor, a gesture that highlights the administration’s focus on equipping officials with the capacity to deliver effectively on their mandates.

The retreat featured intensive sessions on leadership development, accountability, strategic planning, and teamwork.

It also served as a platform for appointees to share experiences and align with the Governor’s vision of building a more inclusive, transparent, and people-focused government.

In his remarks, Dr. Yusuf reaffirmed his determination to improve healthcare delivery in Kano, noting that the recognition would further inspire him and his team to provide quality, affordable, and accessible health services across the state.

Under his leadership, the Ministry of Health has pursued reforms that prioritise Primary Health Care, while also expanding access to hospital services and preventive health programs.

The recognition at the retreat underscores the state government’s broader commitment to accountability, excellence, and capacity building.
