Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated four prominent media professionals on their recent appointments as General Managers and Managing Director of leading radio stations in the state.
The newly appointed executives include Anas Idris Hassan, General Manager, Vision FM Radio Kano; Garba Ubale Dambatta, General Manager, Pyramid FM Radio Kano; Mukhtar Abdullahi Birnin Kudu, General Manager, Nasara FM Radio Kano; and Muhammad Musa Mohammed Inya, Managing Director, Hikima FM Radio Kano.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the State Government extended heartfelt congratulations to the appointees on behalf of the government and people of Kano State, describing their appointments as well-deserved and rooted in merit and professionalism.
The statement noted that the newly appointed media leaders have demonstrated years of dedication and excellence in journalism, aligning with the vision of Governor Yusuf’s administration to promote credible, responsible, and development-oriented media practice across the state.
The government emphasized its continued commitment to maintaining a strong partnership with the media, a relationship it described as “vital to strengthening public enlightenment and sensitization on government programs and activities.”
It further expressed optimism that the media will continue to collaborate with the State Government in promoting ethical journalism, countering misinformation, and enhancing effective information management in the public space.
“The State Government urges the newly appointed executives to justify the confidence reposed in them by upholding the highest principles of fairness, objectivity, and integrity in their professional duties,” the statement added.
Governor Yusuf’s administration reaffirmed its unwavering support for the media as an essential partner in governance, transparency, and civic engagement, pledging to continue fostering an enabling environment for a free and responsible press in Kano State.
