The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to supporting youth development and empowerment in order to enhance their productivity and contributions to the growth of the state.

Speaking during the Kano Facebook Connect 2026, held on March 22, the Commissioner expressed delight at participating in what he described as a historic gathering of vibrant and promising youths from across Kano State.

Comrade Waiya noted that the event served as an important platform for engagement, innovation, and collaboration among young people who are increasingly shaping conversations and development through digital platforms.

Reflecting on the significance of the gathering, the Commissioner posed a critical question to participants: “What is next after today’s gathering?”

He emphasized that, beyond the excitement of the event, the real task is to translate ideas, connections, and digital engagement into meaningful actions that benefit society.

According to him, the Kano State Government remains fully prepared to support initiatives that focus on youth empowerment, capacity building, and digital innovation.

He stressed that young people are central to the state’s development agenda and must be equipped with the tools and opportunities necessary to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.

“The government is ready to partner with young people and provide the necessary support that will help develop their talents, enhance their productivity, and guarantee their active participation in the development of our dear state,” Waiya stated.

He further encouraged participants to utilize the knowledge, networks, and inspiration gained from the Facebook Connect event to drive positive change within their communities and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Kano State.

The Kano Facebook Connect 2026 attracted a large number of youths, digital creators, and social media enthusiasts, highlighting the growing role of technology and digital communication in shaping the future of the state.
