The Forum of Education Secretaries of the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State has paid a solidarity visit to the Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, reaffirming their unwavering support to the government, particularly for its remarkable commitment to the development and revitalization of the education sector.

Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Nura Suleiman, stated that the Education Secretaries deemed it necessary to align with the Governor in view of the unprecedented priority his administration has accorded to education through substantial budgetary allocations.

Alhaji Nura Suleiman further disclosed that members of the Forum play a critical role in ensuring the effective distribution of free school materials and textbooks provided by the state government.

According to him, whenever Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf rolls out such interventions, Education Secretaries across the 44 Local Government Areas actively supervise the process to guarantee that the materials reach the intended students without hindrance.

He also commended the government for resolving the long-standing issue of delayed promotions for teachers, describing the move as a morale booster that has significantly enhanced teachers’ commitment, productivity, and dedication to duty.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, described education as the bedrock of societal progress and economic transformation. He emphasized that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s consistent investment in the sector is a deliberate strategy to secure a brighter future for the people of Kano State.

Comrade Waiya acknowledged the pivotal role played by Education Secretaries in implementing government policies at the grassroots level, noting that their dedication and professionalism remain indispensable to the success of the state’s education reforms.

He noted that the allocation of 30 percent in the 2025 budget and 31 percent in the 2026 budget to education clearly demonstrates the Governor’s determination to reposition the sector for sustainable growth and excellence.

The Commissioner expressed profound appreciation to the Association for its solidarity and continued support for the administration’s “Kano First” agenda, which is designed to promote unity, peaceful coexistence, and sustainable development across the state.
