Kano Committee on Project Monitoring Employs Integrity Test Measures

To avoid concrete failures and mitigate the main structural and durability risks, the Executive Council Committee on Project Monitoring formed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has employed Integrity test measures to assess and determine if the classroom blocks construction across the 44 local governments are executed according to the contract specifications.

The 6-man committee headed by the Commissioner Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, said so far, with technical team inspected Kwankwasiyya Gida-Gida Blocks of classrooms in 13 local governments.

On Tuesday, the committee visited Nassarawa, Tarauni, Kano Municipal, Fagge, Gabasawa, Gezawa and Minjibir local government

The Chairman of the Committee, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, said that Kano State Government under the administration of Governor Yusuf has reiterated its commitment to protect lives and public properties.

He said: “This committee is tasked to go round 44 local government Areas and ascertain the ongoing classroom projects. The aim is to make sure that there is value for money and quality assurance on whatever the Kano State Government is doing.”

“Our engineers will make assessments and analysis on each building, at the end the committee will file a report and table it before His Excellency for appropriate action.” The Honorable Commissioner stated

The Project Monitoring Committee has professionals from the Ministry of Works and Housing, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information, Ministry for Special Duties, Kano Projects Protection Association and Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation as the lead.
